Embracing Early Readers

Reading Room is the main program of the Mahapadma Parartha Foundation in collaboration with SMK Sirojul Huda 3, which aims to bring books closer to Diniyah children aged 1-3 grades. This is done by reading a fairy tale or story in a book that requires illustrations. Mahapadma Parartha Foundation assists the availability of books and library facilities in the Reading Room.

The volunteer staff at the reading lodge are the spearhead to make these books familiar to children, apart from reading the contents of the book, they also teach reading for children who cannot read. As for children who can already read, they are welcome to choose the book they like with notes that they must be read and taken care not to get dirty or damaged.

This activity is carried out every day from Monday to Friday, according to Diniyah’s school learning schedule. So before starting the school material, students can read lightly, while waiting for the ustadz and ustazah to come.

According to the volunteer officers there, in the future there will be an educational program that challenges children to express their reading by competing in reading, storytelling and telling the contents of the books they like. As for junior high school children, various training programs have been prepared to raise literacy awareness for the younger generation, starting from writing reviews, reading fairy tales and poetry, training in computers and journalism, as well as watching films based on literary works that have been published in the form of books. .

Hopefully the desire to build a literacy movement can run smoothly and foster interest in reading for students and students of Sirojul Huda 3 in particular and the wider community in general.
