RENOVATION FOR READING ROOM PREPARATION FOR SMK SIROJUL HUDA 3, CIJERUK

After completing the Reading House and renovation of the hallway at the An Nuur Orphanage Foundation in Setu-Bekasi, the MaPaFoundation management continued their social work, by looking for another location to build a library.

The search took us to the Cijeruk area, Bogor regency. We saw the location of a simple library in the Sirojul Huda Yatim dormitory area, accompanied by Mas Cokro and his wife, as administrators of the orphanage foundation, vocational school and Quran Education Park in the Foundation area.

Agreeing to provide good and quality reading materials for students and other children living around the school area, the management of the MaPa Foundation began to plan the location of the Sirojul Huda 3 Reading Room. “Many children live nearby, studying Islam and in the afternoon they can use their free time by reading books,” said Mas Cokro. “Many also often play in our Foundation field, most of whom come from less prosperous families. So with the Reading Room, they have other positive activities to play and learn,” explained Mas Cokro.

“Reading interest and curiosity may already exist and need to be improved. The main problem is the absence of facilities, in the form of books. This situation is what the MaPa Foundation wants to improve, by working together to provide the Sirojul Huda 3 Reading Room,” explained Juliani W. Luthan, Chairperson of the Mahapadma Parartha Foundation (MaPa Foundation).

The choice fell to a room that could still function as a library, in the SMK school building. The room will be partitioned, painted, illuminated and equipped with sturdy bookshelves, which can accommodate a collection of old books as well as additional new books, which will be provided by the MaPa Foundation.

It turned out that the intense rainfall at the end of 2019 to the beginning of 2020 caused the room to leak. For this reason, Mas Cokro, assisted by children from the Yatim Foundation, worked hand in hand to patch up the leaks, so that when finished, the Reading Room could safely accommodate library books.

After some time the roof renovation was not finished. “Thank God the renovation is complete, the Reading Room can be used according to its function later, comfortably,” said Mas Cokro with a smile.
